I’m a principal frontend engineer focused on collaborative, accessible, responsive, performant, legible web-apps. I help my teams stay grounded in the big picture, and when necessary, I sweat over the gritty details.
I’ve coded chart and graph libraries from scratch, animated a music video, built games, interactive video walls, tradeshow booths, shopping-carts, and websites for marketing agencies, universities, and the Fortune 50. I’ve saved projects from certain disaster, shipped against impossible deadlines, and mentored my teams as they learn to do the same.
My work has been a part of projects for Fidelity Investments, National Geographic Channel, Reebok, RedHat, Autozone, Audi, Travelocity, Nasdaq, Lands’ End, AT&T, NCAA (Men’s College Basketball), NC State University, and many more.
Sometimes projects get stuck and the team doesn't know how to get moving again. I generate paths forward that break through those logjams and can help prevent them from occurring in the first place.
I don't believe in unicorns, but I do have a very rare blend of skills. My extensive front-end engineering expertise paired with strong interaction design & UX know-how might be just the combination your organization needs.
In my free time, I’ve published an illustrated volume of poetry, streamed live video from my robotic ouija board, built a giant spirograph machine, programmed a light-painting robot, and helped found and manage Quarter Horse, an arcade bar in Durham NC.
